calibration services, including Tool Calibration and Gauge Calibration Services, are performed to evaluate and adjust instruments in order to maintain accurate measurement. During dimensional calibration, also known as mechanical calibration, measurements taken with the instrument are compared to those of a standard with measurement traceability to a national authority such as NIST.
